What is Zuishin-in Temple?
Zuishin-in Temple is a historic temple founded in 991.
It is said to be the place where Ono no Kom achi spent the rest of her life, and there are many historical sites related to Ono no Komachi in the temple grounds.
It is also known as the birthplace of the Ono-ryu school of Shingon Buddhism.

Historic sites related to Ono no Komachi: There are many historic sites related to Ono no Komachi in the precincts of the temple, including Ono no Komachi’s make-up well, Bunbari Jizo, and Bunzuka. In particular, the Bunzuka mound is popular as a power spot for love fulfillment, where Ono no Komachi is said to have buried her love letters.
Beautiful garden and seasonal flowers and trees: Zuishin-in Temple is known for its beautiful garden and seasonal flowers and trees. About 200 “Hanezu no Ume” (Japanese apricot) trees are planted in the precincts of the temple, and they are at their best from mid to late March. The cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves in fall are also spectacular.
Collaboration with the “Umezogi-Komachi Picture Painting”: During the “Flower Room” period, the “Noh Room” is decorated with a collaboration of flowers and the “Umezogi-Komachi Picture Painting” in vivid colors. The vivid colors of the Umezagi-Komachi pictures and the colorful flowers will create a spectacular scene of “a hundred flowers”.
