What is Kawazu-zakura?
Kawazu-zakura is an early-blooming cherry tree discovered in Kawazu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture, in 1955, and is believed to be a natural hybrid of Oshima-zakura and Kanhizakura.
It is characterized by the deep pink color of its blossoms, which bloom earlier and last longer than Somei-Yoshino (Somei-Yoshino).

Kawazu-zakura in Yodo usually bloom from mid-February tolate March.
