In spring, approximately 190 beautiful cherry trees bloom at Uji City Botanical Park, one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Kyoto. Among them, the 70-year-old weeping cherry tree is said to be a blood relative of the “Gion shidare-zakura” in Maruyama Park and has become a symbolic symbol of the park.
Event Information
Free night viewing of weeping cherry blossoms
The park will be open free of charge at night only when the weeping cherry trees are at their best.
During this period, the park will be open until 8:00 p.m., and visitors can enjoy the fantastic night view of the cherry blossoms illuminated at night.
Cherry Blossom Festival and Yaezakura Light-up
In 2023, events and light-up were held in the spring zone where yaezakura (double-flowered cherry trees) are in full bloom. 2024 event information is yet to be determined.
