The Shiowaritsutsumi Sakura Festival is an event held in the Shiowaritsumi area of the Yodogawa River Park in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture. Various events such as “Sakura Marche”, “Sakura Deai Cruise”, and “Sakura Story Tour” will be held at the foot of the cherry trees lining the Yodogawa River!

Sakura Marche
A gathering of selected delicacies and local specialties from the Yodogawa Mikawa area!
About 35 booths will be set up to sell fresh vegetables, gourmet foods, sweets, etc.
Sakura deai cruise
Visitors can enjoy a relaxing cruise on a boat on the Uji River while viewing the cherry blossoms along the Backwari-Tsutsumi!
You can purchase a ticket at the ticket booth at the pier and board the boat.

Hanami Boat E-boat
You can enjoy a leisurely river cruise while slowly viewing cherry blossoms on a rowing e-boat!
What is an e-boat?
E-boat is a 10-passenger rowing canoe-type boat. E-boats are used in rivers and dams throughout Japan as a vehicle that allows anyone to enjoy a riverside stroll. Beginners and children can also enjoy it safely!

Sakura Story Tour
Visitors can walk through a tunnel of cherry blossoms while listening to a guide’s explanation about the cherry blossoms of Backwari-Tsutsumi and nearby sightseeing spots!
No application is required and participation is free. The tour is marked by a signboard at the entrance to the rows of cherry trees!

Sakura deai-kan Observation Tower
Visitors can climb the observation tower for a panoramic view of the rows of cherry trees along the Sowari-zutsumi River!

How to access
To get to Yodogawa Back Wari-Tsutsumi, it is a 10-minute walk from Ishimizu-Hachimangu Station on the Keihan Railway.
Also, during the Cherry Blossom Festival, a paid shuttle bus will be available between ” Nishiyama-Tennozan ” station on the Hankyu Railway and Sakura de Aikan.
Suspension of Bicycle Rental
Yodogawa Mikawa Sakura Rental Bicycle ” at Sakura de Aikan will be closed from Monday, March 18, 2024 to Sunday, April 7, 2024.

- JRA Kyoto Racecourse (until 17:00 on Sat. and Sun.)
The Shiowari-zutsumi Cherry Blossom Festival promotes Park & Ride in order to ease road congestion, reduce environmental impact, and promote the use of public transportation.
Please note that the Yodogawa River Park parking lot and Ishimizu Hachimangu Station municipal parking lot will be closed during the Shiowaritsutsumi Sakura Festival to ease congestion on surrounding roads.
