What are Someiyoshino?
Someiyoshino cherry trees, which can be seen in the Seowari-zutsumi area, are the symbol of spring in Japan. They are planted in parks and along streets throughout Japan to herald the arrival of spring! It has become a representative species of ornamental cherry trees in modern times, and when we simply say “sakura,” we often refer to this variety.
Best time to see the cherry blossoms
The cherry blossoms at Backwari-zutsumi usually bloom from mid-March tolate March. Someiyoshino cherry trees have a shorter blooming season, so please be careful not to miss them by accident!
Since the blooming time varies from year to year, it is recommended to check the blooming status in advance!

Seowari-zutsumi Cherry Blossom Festival
The Shiowari-zutsumi Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event held in the Shiowari-zutsumi area of Yodogawa River Park. Various events such asstalls,cruises, and tours are held at the foot of the cherry trees lining the Yodogawa River, attracting many tourists!
How to access
To get to Yodogawa River and Shiowari-Tsutsumi, it is about a 10-minute walk from Ishimizu-Hachimangu Station on the Keihan Railway.
