What is Myokenji Temple?
Founded in 1321, Myokenji Temple was the first Buddhist center for the Lotus Sutra in Kyoto. Later, it was moved to its current location due to the urban planning of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Myokenji prospered as a center of Nichiren Buddhism and received support from the Emperor.

Red Seal
Goshuin is a seal given by temples and shrines to commemorate visits, and Myokenji Temple has a special “Nami-yuri title” on it. In addition, Myokenji offers its own red seal book in three colors: vermilion, navy blue, and green.
Shukubo (lodging house)

- Take the city bus to ” Horikawa Teranouchi” and walk about 7 minutes.
- City Bus ” Teranouchi” alighting, 5 minutes on foot
- Take Subway Karasuma Line, get off at Imadegawa Station, and walk 10 minutes.
