Features of Cherry Blossoms at Kyoto Botanical Garden

Particularly worth seeing is the cherry blossom grove that stretches behind the front gate. Someiyoshino and yaeveni weeping cherry blossoms cover the overhead, creating a spectacular view.
The park is also planted with rare species such as the turmeric and the giant oohara willowherb.

Bulb Begonia Exhibition
This is an annual spring event held from late March to early April.
During this period, approximately 300 colorful bulbous begonia pots are displayed in the greenhouse. Begonias are bulb plants native to South America, characterized by their bright and gorgeous flowers. At the bulb begonia exhibition, visitors can enjoy begonias of various shapes and colors, such as double-flowered and frilled begonias.
During the exhibition, there will also be a bulb begonia cultivation workshop and sales event, so visitors can learn how to grow begonias and purchase begonias of their own choice.

Cherry Blossoms Light Up at Night
The Kyoto Botanical Garden will light up the cherry blossoms at night. About 300 cherry trees will be lit up to create a fantastic atmosphere.

The Kyoto Botanical Garden is conveniently accessible by Kyoto City Subway.
- City Subway Karasuma Line ” Kitayama ” Station Exit #3
- 10 minutes on foot from Kitaoji Station on the Karasuma Line of the Kyoto Municipal Subway.
By car: 30 minutes from the Kyoto Minami/Higashi Interchange on the Meishin Expressway.
Paid parking for 150 regular cars is available.
