The weeping cherry tree at Jizo Zen-in Temple is large, with a height of about 10 meters and a trunk circumference of about 2.4 meters, and its graceful appearance is breathtaking. It is said that the parent tree is the same as the “Gion Shidare” in Maruyama Park, Kyoto, and is the uncle of the weeping cherry tree in Maruyama Park today.
From the precincts of the temple, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the village of Ide-cho, the Kizu River, and, if the weather permits, Mt. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful blossoms of weeping cherry trees while admiring the spectacular view.
