  • Cherry blossoms and flower rafts reflected on the water can be enjoyed

The Fushimi Jujikkoku-bune is a sightseeing boat that replicates the transport boats that carried goods and travelers in the Edo period. Visitors can enjoy a tasteful trip along the waterfront, lined with Fushimi’s sake breweries and willow trees, and feel as if they have stepped back in time to the Edo period. Along the river are sake breweries such as “Gekkeikan” and “Teradaya,” famous for Sakamoto Ryoma, giving visitors a taste of the Edo period.

The cherry blossoms along the Uji River are famous for the reflection of the cherry blossoms on the surface of the water. 2km long, the Uji River has almost no current on the east side from Fushimi Deai Bridge. When there is no wind, the surface of the water becomes like a mirror, reflecting the beautiful rows of cherry trees.

How to access

  • Get off at Chushojima Station on the Keihan Railway and walk 10 minutes.
