The highlight of Daikakuji Temple is Osawa Pond, the oldest man-made forest spring in Japan. Cherry trees are planted around the pond for about 1 km, and the best time to view them is usually from late March to early April. In particular, the weeping cherry tree in front of the Teshimon Gate attracts many visitors with its magnificent blossoms.

Event Information
Kado Matsuri (Flower Arrangement Festival)
The “ Ikebana Festival” is held for three days in mid-April every year, and many ikebana arrangements are displayed on the temple grounds.
The festival includes a flower arrangement display, the “Ryutogekishu Boat” at Osawa Pond, which is held only twice a year, a flower offering ceremony, a tea ceremony, and various pujas, all held in an elegant setting, just like a Heian-style picture scroll.
