Amanohashidate is a 3.6-km-long sandbar that separates Miyazu Bay and the Aso Sea from north to south, and was so named because it looks like a bridge spanning the heavens. The sandbar is covered with approximately 5,000 pine trees, which can be crossed on foot or by bicycle along the central path.

In addition, about 100 cherry trees are planted in Umbrella Pine Park. The types of cherry trees include Someiyoshino and Yamazakura.
