Highlights

Spring Night Special Viewing

Every spring, Kiyomizu-dera Temple holds a “Spring Night Special Viewing,” during which visitors can view the cherry blossoms at night, lit up with lights. This “special nighttime viewing” is held only twice a year, in spring and fall, and attracts a large number of visitors each year.

During the special viewing, Kiyomizu-dera Temple emits a ray of blue light. This light represents the mercy of the Kannon (Goddess of Mercy), and the fantastic atmosphere enhances the charm of the cherry blossoms.
